DC Bishnupur inaugurates exhibition at Kumbi

Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, today inaugurated the Science, Mathematics, Arts & Crafts, Flowers and Photography Exhibition 2025 at Kumbi Sandhong Upper Primary School. The exhibition was jointly organised by the School Management Committee and the Alumni Organisation of the school.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, DC Smt. Pooja Elangbam expressed delight at witnessing the creative and academic talents showcased by the students. She commended the school’s Principal for the dedicated effort in trying to uplift the educational standard, providing students with opportunities to grow beyond the classroom.
The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the teachers’ commitment to the holistic development of the students and encouraged other schools to draw inspiration from such initiatives. She stressed the importance of organising similar events to nurture creativity and talent among young learners.
Emphasizing the need to support and motivate students during their formative years, DC Pooja Elangbam cautioned against the growing influence of misleading trends on social media. There is no shortcut to lasting success, she remarked, urging students to use technology wisely and focus on building meaningful lives through hard work.
The DC further encouraged students to stay connected to their roots even as they achieve success, and to lead by example in contributing positively to society. Highlighting the critical role of youth in nation-building, she called on everyone to strive to become better individuals and responsible citizens for a stronger nation.
The exhibition featured works created by students in various disciplines, including science models, art, handicrafts, flower arrangements, paintings, and photography.
As part of the event, state and national awardee teachers were also felicitated for their outstanding contributions to the field of education.
The programme was also graced by Bisheshwar Khumukcham, Additional Director of Education (S), Valley; Dangmei Manglem, Additional Director of Education (S), Hills; and Atom Gunamani, ZEO Zone-IV Bishnupur, among others.
