Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur also District Mission Director, Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Bishnupur Pooja Elangbam distributed cheques to 10 Self Help Groups (SHGs) of the Mangalleibi Village Level Federation (VLF), Thinungei Makha Leikai under MSRLM Bishnupur today.
A total Community Investment Fund of Rs. 15 lakh was handed over to members of the SHGs during a simple ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
Addressing the SHG members, DC Pooja Elangbam urged them to utilise the funds cautiously to generate sustainable income. She underlined the importance of financial independence, stating that having one’s own income not only helps support the family but also strengthens one’s voice within the household and in the society.
Highlighting the larger impact of self-development, the DC said, when we develop ourselves, we can make progress for our families, and society at large. As we grow, we must also uphold values of kindness and the spirit of helping others, so that together we can move towards a prosperous society.
Smt. Pooja Elangbam further assured all possible support from the District Administration for the growth and development of SHGs in the district. She also appreciated the dedicated efforts of MSRLM Bishnupur in empowering women and strengthening the rural economy.
