Dancers to perform at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi

A competition of dancers from Maharashtra, Goa, MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli under the Western zone, is being held in Mumbai, under” Vande Bharatam” initiative.
The competition to select the winners to perform at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, has now reached the Zonal selection stage. The dance competition is being held across India.
This is for the first time that dance groups to perform at the Republic Day Parade are being chosen based on an all India level competition. The “Vande Bharatam” is a unique initiative of Union Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Defence to commemorate the 75th year of India’s Independence celebrated as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Sail India 2021
In another development, “Sail India 2021”, a senior National Championships is being conducted by Army Yatching Node (AYN) on behalf of the Yatching Association of India (YAI) till December 15 at Girgaum Chowpatty , Marine Drive, in South Mumbai.
Around 125 sailors, 100 competing boats and 25 officials including four World Sailing Qualified Jury are part of the regatta. The intent of the regatta is to reach out to the youth and the general populace to encourage the spirit of the sport of sailing and develop future sailors for the country. Races for 12 Olympics classes of boats are being spread for over four days in three different courses off the waters of Girgaum Chowpatty with 12 races conducted in each class.
