D/66th Battalion CRPF conducts 10-Km Marathon

D/66 Bn CRPF, Thoubal, Manipur Organised a 10K Mini Marathon today at DC Office Complex, Thoubal, Manipur under the theme “Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation.” The event was aimed at promoting physical fitness, healthy living, sportsmanship, discipline and community participation, while conveying a positive message of peace, unity and social harmony through sports.

The Event was flagged off by Suresh Yadav, 2IC Ops, 66 Bn. A total of 284 enthusiastic youths participated in the event. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners in the Open Men’s Category (18 years and above) as well as Open Female Category.

Kh Zabed Hussain secured the 1st position and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10000 while Ningthoujam Diviya Devi clinched 1st position (Rs.10000) among Female Category with 2nd & 3rd position being awarded Rs.6000 & Rs.4000 respectively.

Speaking to the Media, Suresh Yadav, 2IC Ops, 66 Battalion, said “This is being organized in Thoubal by the 66 Battalion of the CRPF. We organize events like this every year. Last year, we organized a football tournament, and this year, too, we are conducting and will continue to host a marathon and a football tournament. The main objective is to support our youth, who are striving in various fields.

The event was very fruitful for society and was organised to promote development and peace in the state as well as in the district, he said.
