The Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, in collaboration with the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Manipur State Branch, successfully organized Cyclothon 2025 to promote oral health awareness and fitness among the public.
The event was flagged off by Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, in the esteemed presence of R.K. Mecolt Singh, Deputy Director (Admin), RIMS, Imphal, Dr. B. Praveen Reddy, Principal of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, and Dr. R.K. Ratankumar Singh, Representative of IDA, Manipur State Branch. The cycle rally commenced from Jubilee Hall, RIMS, covering a well-planned route through RIMS Gate, Uripok, Overbridge, Kangla Gate, DM College Gate, Nagamapal, RIMS Road, and RIMS Gate, before concluding at the Dental College, RIMS.
The Cyclothon 2025 witnessed enthusiastic participation from dental students, faculty members, healthcare professionals, and cycling enthusiasts, all advocating for the importance of maintaining oral hygiene and overall health. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the crucial link between physical fitness and dental well-being, emphasizing preventive dental care for a healthier lifestyle.
Speaking at the event, Prof. N. Sanjib Singh lauded the efforts of the organizers for integrating fitness and oral health awareness. Dr. B. Praveen Reddy highlighted the significance of such initiatives in promoting public health education and encouraging active participation in preventive dental care. Dr. R.K. Ratankumar Singh reaffirmed IDA’s commitment to fostering community engagement and spreading awareness about oral health across the state.
The event concluded successfully, marking another milestone in the collaborative efforts of RIMS and IDA towards improving public health standards. The organizers extended their gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and supporting institutions for making Cyclothon 2025 a grand success.
