Chandel, June 3: Emergency relief materials were distributed to the families of cyclone Mora affected areas in Khengjoi subdivision of Chandel district.
Dwelling houses and properties of several families in the subdivision have been severely damaged by the recent incessant heavy downpour.
Irrigation and Flood Control Department (IFCD) Minister Letpao Haokip, who is also the Local MLA of Chandel constituency, took the initiative in rendering the emergency relief materials for the affected villagers with the relentless efforts made by some local leaders and workers.
SDO/BDO Khengjoi Block, Shokhongam Baite was also personally involved in distributing the relief materials in the area. The SDO urged the state government for providing more relief to the affected villagers to help tackle the situation created by natural calamity.
