CSOs serve 5-day ultimatum over delay in NFSA foodgrain delivery

Several civil society organisations (CSOs) of Tamenglong district have served a five-day final ultimatum to transport contractor Soraisam Gobin of SY Enterprises over the alleged failure to deliver the May 2026 NFSA foodgrain allocation meant for beneficiaries in Tamei, Nungba and Tamenglong constituencies.
The ultimatum was jointly issued by the Inpui Naga Union, Liangmai Naga Council Manipur (Tamenglong Zone), Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (Tamenglong Zone), Zeme Naga Council Manipur, Joint Tribes Women Association (Tamenglong Zone), Chairman and Secretary Association Tamenglong, and Village Authority Chairman Councils, Tamenglong.
In a statement, the CSOs alleged that despite earlier notices, the contractor had failed to transport the allocated foodgrains, causing hardship to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) cardholders in the region.
The organisations clarified that although the contractor was not the supplier, his responsibility for transportation was contractually binding and crucial for timely distribution.
The CSOs demanded complete and verifiable delivery of the May 2026 NFSA allocation to all designated distribution points on or before May 16.
