CRPF organise 10-Km Mini-Marathons in Imphal and Kwakta

The 66 Bn CRPF, Imphal organised a 10K mini marathon today at 2nd MR Ground, Imphal, under the theme “Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation.”

The event was flagged off by N. Kunjarani Devi, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna & Arjuna awardee.

A total of 100 youths participated in the event. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners in the Open Men’s Category (18 years and above).

Md. Rahish Khan secured the 1st position and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-. Sandham Punshiba Singh secured the 2nd position and received Rs. 6,000/-, while Rexim Moirangthem secured the 3rd position and was awarded Rs.4,000/-.

Also, the 71 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a 10-km mini-marathon at Kwakta Ground today.

The event was organised under the command of Pramod Kumar Singh, Commandant, 71 BN CRPF, and Pappu Kumar Rajak, Second-in-Command, under the overall supervision of Ghanashyam Behwal, DIG, CCPUR Range, CRPF.

Three separate events were conducted by C, D and G Companies of the battalion. Winners in each event were awarded Rs.10,000, Rs.6,000 and Rs.4,000 for the first, second and third positions respectively, along with medals and certificates.

The first 100 participants in each event were also presented with T-shirts, medals and certificates.

The marathon commenced from Kwakta Ground and passed through PGCI Bazar, Heiyakon, Saiton, Cherangpat, Sangai Ethnic Park Road and Kabarstan Road before concluding at Kwakta Bazar.

Around 400 athletes, CRPF personnel, local youths and residents from surrounding areas participated in the event.
