CRPF observes 87th Raising Day with tributes, awards, and celebrations

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) marked its 87th Raising Day today with a series of commemorative and celebratory events at the Group Centre in Imphal. The force, one of the country’s oldest and most distinguished Central paramilitary organisations, was originally raised on July 27, 1939, in Neemuch and has since played a crucial role in maintaining internal security and national stability.
On the occasion, the Inspector General of Manipur & Nagaland Sector laid a wreath at the Martyrs Memorial within the Group Centre campus, paying solemn tribute to the brave personnel who had laid down their lives in the line of duty. He extended his best wishes to all personnel and their families on behalf of the force.
During the Sainik Sammelan, the Inspector General read out the Director General’s message, reiterating the CRPF’s pivotal role in maintaining law and order in Manipur. He urged the personnel to continue upholding the legacy of the force with a deep sense of duty and commitment under the guiding spirit of “Nation First”.
As part of the observance, an investiture ceremony was also held in which officers and personnel were decorated with the Director General’s Disc and Commendation Certificate for their dedicated service, particularly for their contributions to the peaceful conduct of the General Parliamentary Elections 2024.
The day also saw several engaging activities, including a friendly football match, a painting competition for children, and a ceremonial community feast or “Barakhana”, where officers and jawans shared a meal to mark the occasion.
