Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Imphal today celebrated the 88th Raising Day of the CRPF with solemnity and pride, paying tribute to the Force’s rich legacy of service and sacrifice.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Rajendra Narayan Dash, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Manipur and Nagaland Sector, and under the supervision of Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Group Centre Imphal. The event was attended by CRPF officers, subordinate officers, personnel, veterans, families of martyrs and invited guests.
The celebration commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony and Guard of Honour at the Quarter Guard, where officers, personnel and family members paid homage to CRPF personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Families of the martyrs were felicitated in recognition of their sacrifices.
Addressing a Sainik Sammelan, Rajendra Narayan Dash traced the history of the Force from its establishment as the Crown Representative’s Police in 1939 to its evolution into the Central Reserve Police Force after Independence. He highlighted the CRPF’s crucial role in maintaining law and order and safeguarding internal security in Manipur and across the country, while commending personnel for their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to national service.
As part of the Raising Day celebrations, a debate competition for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and friendly football and volleyball matches among CRPF personnel were organised to promote patriotism, discipline and esprit de corps.
The CRPF is also observing its 88th Raising Day through a nationwide online competition hosted on the MyGov portal, offering a total prize pool of ¹ 10 lakh to encourage public participation in celebrating the Force’s legacy.
Reaffirming its motto, “Service, Loyalty and Sacrifice,” the CRPF reiterated its commitment to upholding peace, internal security and the integrity of the nation.
