CPI Manipur State Council observed Manipur State Assembly – 1948

Imphal: Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council observe the first Manipur State Assembly – 1948 today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal.
Speaking at the event, Dr Moirangthem Nara, Secretary of CPI Manipur State Council expressed that the first Manipur State Assembly – 1948 is one of the historic event of Manipur and one must not forget it.
It is very unfortunate that till date we have neglected this historic event of Manipur State rather than analysing thoroughly the importance of the event, he added.
Nara also said that in today’s observance a resolution must be pass and put pressure to the Manipur State Assembly to observe this historic event of October 18, 1948 of Manipur state every year.
Once we analyse the previous status and present status of Manipur and its history through this historic event of first Manipur State Assembly-1948, a progressive route for a better and developed and peaceful Manipur will be seen in the near future, he added.
Nara further said that despite the ideology and struggle made by Hijam Irabot Singh for the people of the state for a better Manipur, he was not allowed to sit in the first State Assembly which is very unfortunate for the people of the state.
Dhanabir Laishram, Social Activist; L Iboyaima Singh, Ex-Secretary of CPI Manipur State Council and members of the CPI Manipur State Council attended the event.
