To evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practices of the masses towards Covid vaccine, the district administration conducted one day Covid vaccination advocacy at DTC Hall, Tuibong yesterday.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event John Tlangtinkhuma, Secretary (PHED), stated that one of the major challenges with vaccination has been the “Vaccine Hesitancy” and this can be solved only by way of spreading awareness about the vaccine. He urged the Church leaders, community leaders, chiefs and CSO leaders present to help the government in providing accurate scientific information about the vaccine and explain the villagers that why it is important in the fight against the pandemic.
Highlighting the achievements of the district in relation to Covid vaccination campaign, KhaikhopauNgaihte, Addl DC (Development) stated that the administration will focus now on ‘vaccine hesitant areas’ to improve vaccination percentage of the district. He also stated that out of the targeted 1.91 lakh vaccine doses, 60 percent has been completed.
LalramsangInfimate, Addl. Secy, Relief and Disaster Management, KhaikhopauNgaihte, ADC/CCP, Dr. VC Pau, CMO, Dr. PaulunmangVaiphei, DIO (Immunization) and DLOs, representatives from Churches and CSOs, chiefs from different villages and officials from health department participated in the event.
An interaction session was also held wherein the participants raised and shared their concerns.
