Imphal, Feb 27.

As a continuation of demands on Rectification of 2019 Revision of Pay , an apex body Council of Teachers Association [COTA] has taken resolution  in a press conference today at Manipur Press Club ,Majorkhul  to commence Hunger Strike Rally both at hill and valley district from 29th February of this month at different Zonal Office.

Stressing  on the demands of the apex body, Convener of COTA Ch.Santakumar said that the apex body had staged 18  times sit in protest after serving an ultimatum on 2nd December of 2019 to the Government but still there had been no invitation so far from the Government to deal with the matter. And he continued that the Government had failed to turn the agreement made about 6th pay scale between the  apex body and the former Government  into action to increase to ROP pay scale  after a tenure of 10 years.

‘’It is time to remember the agreement we made with former Government and it’s disheartening to know that the Government had accepted demands of college lecturer for 7th pay scale just few days ago but ours are not so’’ said the co-convener of COTA ,said Dr. L.Ritendro. And he further said that if Government failed to take further initiatives the apex body would start mass resignation  as well.
