Imphal, April 30: Co-Ordination Committee (CorCom), a conglomeration of six proscribed armed groups in Manipur greets the proletarians of the state on the eve of May 1 observed throughout the world as “May Day”. According to a press release signed by Ksh Yoihenba, Media Co-Ordinator of the group, the working class should be given top priority while developing the fiscal conditions of a nation, adding that despite the vital role being played by the farmers and the working class in the development and progress of a nation or a state, yet those at the helm of power has been deliberately keeping them from getting the much deserved prominence and facilities as the government is wary of the potential threat the working class inherently wields. Highlighting the need to replace the workforce being deployed in various economic and service industries, both in the public and private sectors in the state with indigenous people to usher in a positive and productive work culture which will consequently uplift the social and financial standings of the working class, the release further condemns the exploitation of the working class by some unscrupulous elements with power and influence while the government conveniently looks the other way. The release further urged the working population in the state to be prepared and diligent so that the opportunities emerging from the increased cooperation and opening of economic ties with the rest of the Asian countries can be exploited, adding that failure to grasp the opportunities will eventually prove to be the Achilles’s heel that brings down the society to extinction. The release ends with a message to the people of Manipur to unite and elevate the working class while standing up against the oppressive Indian Imperialism.
