A sit-in-protest was staged today at Terakhongsangbi area under Bishnupur District against the decision taken by the State Government for the conversion of Ebudhou Thangjing to Thangting.
The sit-in-protest was jointly organized by Ibudhou Thangjing Laithel Laikonungda Joint Committee Tiddim and Thangjing Laithel Committee.
During the protest, Convener of the Joint Committee, Kulla said that State Government must withdraw the decision for naming Ebudhou Lai Thangjing to Thangting Sub-Division.
Kulla further said instead of naming Thangting Sub-Division, Government must change and name it as Thangjing Sub-Division. If the Government failed to fulfill their demand, agitation in many form will be held, he added.
Placards denouncing the conversion of Ebudhou Thangjing to Thangting, name Thangting Sub-Division as Thangjing Sub-Division, Save Thangjing Shrine, Withdraw Government Decision were displayed.
