Imphal, June 25:

As the inaugural session of the new Lok Sabha commences, the opposition Congress party is gearing up to confront the ruling government on multiple fronts, with a particular focus on the ongoing crisis in Manipur. This declaration was made by Manipur Congress president K Meghachandra following a strategic meeting with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior party leader Rahul Gandhi.
K Meghachandraha has announced the party’s determination to prioritize the Manipur situation in Parliament. He disclosed that during discussions with Kharge and Gandhi, they extensively reviewed the recent incidents in Manipur. “We have resolved to raise the Manipur issue in Parliament,” he asserted.
In addition, young Congress leader Bhupenda Meitei articulated, “Manipur, an erstwhile Kingdom, must be safeguarded with honor in contemporary times, ensuring the territorial integrity of the State of Manipur. To achieve this, Parliament should consider amending Article 3 of the Constitution of India to provide exceptional exclusion of Manipur from the Union of India.”
The Congress leaders are set to present their concerns and proposals during the ongoing session, aiming to draw national attention to the pressing issues affecting Manipur.
