The Committee Against Construction of Sekmai Multi Purpose Project has protested the government’s plan to construct Sekmai Multi Purpose Project at Kangoi area under IFCD Department, Government of Manipur.
The Chiefs/Chairman of the local villages had submitted a copy of memorandum over the proposed project to the local MLA.
The committee convened public meeting four times and had resolved against the construction of the propose dam. Further, the public of the area strongly protest against the propose project, according to a release from the Committee.
In addition to this, the committee appealed to the concerned department not to inspect the site or visit under any circumstances.
