Taking security measures ahead of the upcoming Republic Day Celebration, Imphal East and Imphal West Commandos conducted search operations at different areas of the state today morning at 4 am to 6 am.
Team of Imphal East Police led by Additional SP (OPS) W Singhajit conducted search operation at Nahabam Bamon leikai area. Around 250 people both male and female between the ages of 15 to 50 years were verified. 2 persons who could not produce identity proof documents were detained at Porompat Police Station for further verification.
On the other hand, a search operation was also conducted at Wahengbam Leikai, Imphal West under the supervision of Additional SP (OPS) O Bikramjit where around 200 people including female were verified but 5 persons have been detained for further verification.
