Imphal Police and Commando personnel today conducted a Combing Operation around Yaiskul Janmasthan area of Imphal West. The search operation, taken up as part of the preparation of the State Government to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free Independence Day Celebration tomorrow continued from 4am to 5.30 am and was headed by Meghachandra, Additional SP of Imphal West, along with the OCs of Singjamei PS, Lamphel PS and Imphal PS. Verification of individuals was carried out in between Hicham-Yaicham Pat and Moirangkhom Loklaobung. In all, 58 persons were taken to Imphal Police Stattion for further verification, including a Bail-out former insurgent. Meanwhile, another source close to Imphal Times reported that former insurgents who are out on bail around Imphal West District were summoned at the Imphal West Commando Complex for separate verification.
