Combined troops of 43 AR and Manipur Police seized huge cache of arms and ammunition

Combine troops of 43 Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Commando posted at Moreh recovers huge cache of arms and ammunitions from a hideout while conducting search operation at Moreh .
A police source said that the huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered while conducting a search operation at ward number 7 of Moreh after getting specific information.
The weapons were recovered from a house of S. Moljol Village, Moreh Ward No. The Search Operation was carried out at around 5:30pm and continued upto 6:15pm Yesterday.
The recovered Ammunition and Arms includes 2 Nos. of AK 56 Rifle , 2 Nos. of M16 Rifle, 3 Pistols of 9mm, 1 Chinese Hand Grenade, 9 Magizine for AK 56 and M16, 4 Magazine of 9mm Pistols ,361 Nos. of 7.62mm Live Round, 31 Nos. Of 5.6 mm Live Round, 23 Nos. Of 9mm Live Round , 4 Nos. of Point 38mm , 7 Nos. Of Small Calibre Live Round and 1 Nos. of 8X Binocular. The said Arms and Ammunitions were found from a House of Thanglet Haokip of Moreh.
Source said that the owner of the house owner.
Later at around 8:00pm the joint team hands over the Arms and Ammunitions to Moreh Police Station. A case has been registered at Moreh Police Station.
Meanwhile, the state police had intensified search operation at different part of the state, particularly in the valley area to ensure that no unwanted thing occurred in the upcoming Independent Day celebration which falls on August 15.
A Cordon and search operation was conducted at Oinam Sawombung under the supervision of Imphal West district Superintendent of Police (SP), led by SDPO/MI Shri L. Meghabarna Singh. Inspector Vaiphei, OC of Mayang Imphal Police station and Inspector Joymangol along with lady police team conducted the cordon and search operation from 4 A.M. to 6.30 A.M.
During the search operation two persons namely (1) Khulakpam Roushan Khan 48 yrs s/o (L) Amu Achouba of Oinam Sawombung Dam and (2) Khulakpam (N) Buyamayum (O) Ibesana 70 yrs w/o Buyamayum Ashrab Ali of the locality were arrested after recovering 65 small plastic vial containing suspected Brown Sugar.
