Troops of Red Shield Division along with Manipur Police Commando posted at Sekmai Police outpost nabbed 4 cadres of various UGs during separate counter insurgency operation.
A press statement of PRO Defence, Imphal said that on June 12, two insurgents of UG group KRA (U) under umbrella organisation KNO were apprehended from Kanglatongbi while they were attempting to extort money from the locals and vehicles on NH-2. The cadres were identified as Pvt Thanglunlal Chongloi @ Hopeson, 20 yrs, s/o Tongkhulen Chongloi resident of Kailenjang ,PO KPI of district Senapati and Oinam Shyamsunder Singh @ Naoba, 19 yrs s/o Oinam Manoj Singh, resident of Charhazari, PO Saparmaina of Senapati district. One point 22 Pistol and a Magazine were recovered from them. In another operation two hardcore cadres of PREPAK (PRO) & UNLF were apprehended from Sekmai market while they were attempting to extort money from local businessmen, the press statement added. The cadres were identified as Waikhom Thanjal Singh, 43 yrs, s/o Khomei Singh resident of village Awang Posangdans Khunon, Imphal East district of PREPAK (PRO) & Yaikhom Sanaton Singh @ Ton, 35 yrs, s/o Y Ningthou Singh, resident of village Nilakuthi AwangLekai, Imphal East district of UNLF. The cadres were handed over to Sekmai Police station for further investigation.
