COHSEM declares results; pass percentage reaches 97.63%

Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM), has declared the results for the Higher Secondary Education 2024. The announcement took place during a function held at Imphal today. The event was graced by dignitaries, including L. Nandakumar Singh, Director (Education S), Government of Manipur, as the Chief Guest, and T. Ojit Singh, Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, as the President. Among the Guests of Honour, Kh. Ashikumar, Secretary, and O. Joy Singh, Controller of Examinations, COHSEM, attended the function.
According to the data released, Manipur recorded an impressive overall pass percentage of 97.63% in the examinations. Government higher secondary schools achieved a commendable pass percentage of 95.49%, while private higher secondary schools surpassed this with a pass rate of 98.18%. The breakdown of pass percentages by district is as follows: Thoubal District led at 99.58%, followed closely by Bishnupur District at 99.19%, while Imphal – East District and Imphal – West District reported pass percentages of 99.02% and 98.92% respectively. Other districts also performed well, with Chandel District at 95.60%, Churachandpur District at 93.98%, Jiribam District at 95.26%, Kakching District at 98.25%, Kamjong District at 98.68%, Kangpokpi District at 97.44%, Noney District at 97.51%, Senapati District at 92.26%, Tamenglong District at 93.44%, Tengnoupal District at 97.21%, and Ukhrul District reporting the lowest pass percentage at 85.95%.
The toppers of various streams have also been announced. In the Science stream, Malemnganbi Laishram from Comet School, Changangei, secured the first position, followed by Yumnam Khenika Devi from the same school in the second position, and Mayanglambam Sania Devi from Pine Wood View School, Langol, in the third position. In the Arts stream, Thokchom Sheityajit from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham, secured the first position, followed by Khaidem Niranda Devi from the same school and Sapam Langlel Chanu from T.G. Higher Secondary School, Imphal, jointly securing the second position and Jenita Longjam from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School secured third position . Finally, in the Commerce stream, Aiena Naorem from Kakching Higher Secondary School secured the first position, followed by Kethallina Maisnam from T.G. Higher Secondary School, Imphal, in the second position, and Longjam Aman Singh from SDJM Higher Secondary School, Paona Bazar, in the third position.
