CM rewards JNIMS Renal Transplant Team

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today rewarded the Renal Transplant Team, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat with a cheque of Rs. 5 lakhs only for successfully conducting Kidney transplant at the state-run JNIMS.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had announced the reward soon after the successful conduct of the transplant. Altogether six kidney transplants have been successfully conducted at JNIMS, so far.
Congratulating and thanking JNIMS, specially the team of doctors, nurses, technical and other support staff for the success, the Chief Minister also said that due to their hard work, we have received the permission to increase the number of MBBS seats in JNIMS by another 50 and that the Churachandpur Medical College has also been approved. This means that altogether the MBBS seat will be increased to 250 excluding RIMS, he added.
The Chief Minister concluded by wishing them the best in their future endeavours.
Additional CS (Health) V. Vumlunmang said that all six patients are getting assistance under the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY including post transplant assistance.
Today is also a happy occasion as JNIMS has now received permission of the National Medical Commission to increase MBBS Seat from 100 to 150, he added.
The ceremony was also attended by Health Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Director Health Services Kh. Shasheekumar Mangang, Director, J.N. Institute of Medical Sciences Prof. L. Deben Singh, doctors, nurses among others.
