CM inspects preparations for PM’s visit

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh inspected the preparations going on at Hapta Kangjeibung in Imphal East District where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting on January 4.

Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that the projects which would be inaugurated by the Prime Minister may include Integrated Check Post (ICP), Moreh and Dolaithabi Barrage Project. The Chief Minister also informed that Shri Narendra Modi would also lay the foundation stones for various other new projects during his visit to the State.
Biren Singh urged the public to turn up in huge number to welcome the Prime Minister and listen to his thoughts. Responding to a query regarding the total shut down called by armed outfits in connection with the PM’s visit to the State, the Chief Minister said that adequate security measures had been taken up to thwart any unwanted incident and expressed hope that people would come out in good numbers to take part in the PM’s public meeting.

Stating that the Prime Minister would reach Hapta Kangjeibing at around 12 pm, the Chief Minister urged the public to be seated before 11 am at the venue.

Tourism Corporation of Manipur Ltd. Chairman Dr. Sapam Ranjan, Khurai AC MLA L. Susindro, Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Rajat Sethi and other high ranking officials of the State Government accompanied the Chief Minister.
