CM inaugurates Vocational Training Program for Youths

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that people of the State are filled with enormous talents and one should not hesitate to take up any work which would help in nation building. This was stated by him at the inauguration of vocational training program for youths through video conferencing at Chief Minister’s Secretariat today.

Speaking at the function, Chief Minister appreciated National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) for undertaking such employment oriented and skill development program imparting various vocational courses to local youths and school dropouts and provides them employment opportunities leading to their social and economic empowerment. He stated that NHIDCL has already conducted two training programs on operation and maintenance of construction equipments at Kakching and Tamenglong districts successfully. He stressed that the present vocational program would train the youths from different districts on basic construction jobs such as masonry, carpentry, bar bender etc.

Mentioning about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ‘vocal for local’, Chief Minister said that such campaign would make India a self-reliant nation. The path of self reliance will be achieved by nurturing the young minds and upgrading their skills, he added. N. Biren Singh gave his best wishes to all those trainees in their future endeavors.

Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Ningthoujam Geoffrey, officials of NHIDCL and others were present during the function.
