CM Ibobi moots establishment of special economic zone

Department of Information Technology, Government of Manipur in association with FALTA-SEZ, Kolkata, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India organized a road show program on IT-Sez Manipur today at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh said that there is a need for peoples’ involvement in establishing the special economic zone of Manipur. Establishment of special economic zone in the state will reduce the problem of unemployment and will bring development in exporting maximum products from the state. The establishment of IT-SEZ will also bring reverse  the migration of  Manipuri people in search of jobs to outside the state. The Chief Minister further added that the present IT sectors of the state such as MIT, ITI, NIIT, etc., are not that competent comparing to world class and he added the government will put maximum efforts in developing the sector.

Lakher, Prinicipal Secretary (Commerce and Industries), Government of Manipur attended the program as President and Guests of honour respectively.
