CM flags off 13 mobile medical units

As a part of the Government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare access in the hill districts of the State, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh flagged off 13 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to the hill districts of Manipur under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan(PM JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan(DA-JGUA) at the Directorate of Health Services, Lamphel, Imphal, today.

Upon arrival at the function venue, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) Sumant Singh.

The MMUs will provide a comprehensive range of medical services, including general OPD consultations, basic diagnostic, distribution of essential medicines, maternal and child healthcare, screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes and hypertension etc, oral healthcare, health education and awareness programmes, and referral services whenever required.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) Sumant Singh; Director, Health Services, Dr. N. Hemantakumar Singh; and State Mission Director, NHM Manipur, Dr. M. Dinesh Singh, and staff of the Directorate of health services among others.
