Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has congratulated senior journalist Bijoy Kakchingtabam, Associate Editor of Poknapham, on his nomination as a Member of the Press Council of India (PCI).
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Bijoy Kakchingtabam would render selfless service to the nation and uphold high standards of media ethics in his new role.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) has described the nomination as a historic moment for working journalists in Manipur.
AMWJU President Asem Bhakta congratulated Bijoy Kakchingtabam and expressed pride in the achievement.
In a message posted on social media, the AMWJU president described the nomination as a “historic first” for working journalists of Manipur and expressed confidence that Kakchingtabam would serve as a strong voice for the state at the national level.
“On behalf of the AMWJU family, we express our gratitude and best wishes,” the statement said.
