CM chairs Unified Command meeting

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today chaired a Combined Headquarters (Unified Command) security meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to review the prevailing law and order situation in Manipur.
The high-level meeting brought together senior officials from both the State and Central security establishments to assess the ground situation and coordinate response strategies amid ongoing tensions in several districts.
Among those present were State Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, the Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur, the Chief Secretary, and the Director General of Police, Manipur. Senior military and paramilitary officials, including the 3 Corps Commander of the Indian Army, along with representatives from Assam Rifles (AR), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and other central security forces and intelligence agencies, also attended the meeting.
During the deliberations, the participants reviewed the current security scenario, including recent incidents of violence and unrest in both hill and valley areas. The meeting is understood to have focused on strengthening coordination among various forces, enhancing intelligence sharing, and ensuring effective deployment of security personnel in sensitive and vulnerable locations.
Issues relating to maintaining public order, safeguarding civilian lives, and securing key infrastructure and communication routes were also discussed. Emphasis was laid on the need for swift and coordinated action to prevent further escalation of tension and to restore normalcy at the earliest.
The Unified Command structure, which integrates the efforts of civil administration, police, army, and central forces, plays a key role in managing security operations in the state.
