Imphal, Jan 12:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has rejected allegations made by the opposition Congress Party, which accused the state government of attempting to trace confidential information through baseless claims.
In response to Congress’ accusations that the state government paid money to the Kuki-Zo militant group, Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic), a signatory of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, in July 2024, Biren Singh dismissed the claims as false.
Biren clarified that the government is required to keep certain matters confidential, especially those that serve positive purposes. He said that Congress’ allegations were an attempt to uncover sensitive information.
“Some issues need to be kept secret for the greater good. Congress continues to make these accusations as part of a strategy to uncover such details. Any clarification should come from the relevant authorities, not from me,” Biren stated.
