Class XII results declared; Govt Schools tops in Commerce Stream

The Class XII examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, were declared this afternoon. This year, government schools outperformed private institutions in the Commerce stream, securing all five top positions.
In the Arts stream, T.G. Higher Secondary School upheld the performance of government institutions by securing the second position. However, no government school featured among the top 20 positions in the Science stream.
In the Commerce stream, Thoihenba Thongam of C.C. Higher Secondary School topped the examination with 454 marks out of 500. Haorongbam Keniya Chanu of T.G. Higher Secondary School, Athokpam Deny of C.C. Higher Secondary School, Imphal, Salam Sanayai Devi of T.G. Higher Secondary School, and Ningombam Sulochana Devi of T.G. Higher Secondary School secured the second to fifth positions, respectively.
In the Science stream, all top 20 positions were secured by private schools. Takhellambam Kalpana Devi of Comet School, Changangei, and Yohen Longjam of Comprehensive Concept School, Sangaiprou jointly secured the top position with 490 marks out of 500. Pebam Taibangnganba Mangang of Millennium Institute of Sciences and Keithellakpam Wynona Devi of Comet School, Changangei secured the second and third positions, respectively.
In the Arts stream, Sarangthem Ayingbi Chanu of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham topped with 470 marks out of 500. Pushpa Kakchingtabam of T.G. Higher Secondary School secured the second position with 456 marks and was the only government school student among the top 10. Cheshabam Nurmiya of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School secured the third position.
The overall pass percentage stood at 92.23 per cent, slightly lower than last year’s 94 per cent. A total of 31,259 students appeared for the examinations held from February 17 to March 20, with one subject re-examination conducted on April 1. Of these, 28,829 students passed, including 14,165 in the first division, 12,879 in the second division, and 1,763 in the third division.
