CIRCA denounces RN Ravi’s ‘conspiring mission’ in Manipur, protest rally staged; Bazar bandh declared

Denouncing the proposed visit of Indo-NSCN interlocutor RN Ravi in the state as a ‘mission to conspire’ enmity among the communities, volunteers of CIRCA (Coalition for Indigenous Rights Campaign) Manipur and womenfolk staged protest demonstrations today at different parts of the city.
Holding placards, posters and banners, around 100 volunteers of CIRCA and women lined up from Keishampat Junction traffic point to Churachandpur parking and raised various slogans against the visit of RN Ravi, who is also the Chairman of Joint Intelligence Committee, government of India on his way from Tulihal Airport.
Speaking to media persons, Ksh Romesh, Publicity Secretary of CIRCA said that RN Ravi the man behind the controversial NSCN (IM) – Central Government’s peace accord is visiting Manipur to tame the civil society organizations and other stakeholders in order to successfully implement the secret Indo-NSCN (IM) peace accord. However his visit is secretive in nature; nothing is made known to the public about the agenda of his visit.
New Delhi is conspiring to divide the hill and plain as two separate entities by spewing poison. Till today neither the Government of India nor the NSCN (IM) has revealed about the so called peace agreement that was signed by RN Ravi and IM leader Th Muivah on Aug 3 this year at New Delhi.
He also demanded to reveal the details of the peace accord to the public before meeting with leaders of the civil bodies on Naga issue.
In a release Somorendro Thokchom, Convenor of CIRCA appealed the people of Manipur not to cooperate with RN Ravi in this mission to divide the state and strictly monitor his move.
Women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel also staged protest rally against the visit of RN Ravi in the state.
Speaking to media persons at the sideline of the protest rally, which took out from Khwairamband Keithel to Kangla Western Gate, T Bina, Secretary of Ima Keithel Semgat Sagatpa Amasung Kanba Lup condemned the secretive nature of the peace accord whereby details have been keep hidden from the public.  The women vendors of Khwairamband market declared a 24 hour bandh in the market area starting today midnight.
