CIRCA continues protest against merger agreement

After its month-long protest campaign against the merger agreement of 1949, Coalition for Indigenous’ Rights Campaign (CIRCA), Manipur organised a people’s convention and sit-in-protest demonstration at various parts of the state on Friday.
A public meeting was held at Lilong Arapti Ereima Lampak, Thoubal District with Convenor of CIRCA Somorendro Thokchom; Spokesperson of CIRCA Ningthouja Lancha and CIRA Member, Lamjingba.
The CIRCA members also addressed the gathering against their agitation and the infamous merger agreement of 1949.
CIRCA, along with local meira paibis also organised another public meeting at Khurai Ukhrul Road Yaipha Lamjing Lup while sit-in-protests were also staged at Sekta and Lousangkhong area with the participation of a large number of local women.
