The Churachandpur district administration has issued a detailed public advisory ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on September 13, urging residents to cooperate with security and traffic arrangements.
According to the notification, vehicle movement along the VVIP route from STC-BSF to Peace Ground via Tipaimukh Road will be restricted from 10 a.m. on the day of the visit. Only emergency medical vehicles will be permitted, while routine medical services must take diversion routes. Public seating at the venue will remain open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., after which entry will be closed.
Parking restrictions will begin from September 12 along Tipaimukh Road and Tedim Road. Specific cut-off points have been designated for both private and heavy vehicles, while special invitee vehicles will be allowed inside the Mini-Secretariat campus. Residents with private vehicles have been directed to park only at designated grounds, including ECA Diamond Jubilee Ground, Tuibong Playground, C. Munkot Playground, Sielmat Playground, Don Bosco School Ground, PT Sports Complex, Nghathal Football Ground, and Headquarters Veng Ground.
The advisory also instructs schools to avoid parking or dispersal of students along the route on September 12 and 13 to prevent inconvenience during the VVIP movement. Public crossing points along Tipaimukh and Tedim roads have been earmarked at Bijang, KBC Church, Chapellane, IB Road, Red Cross Road, Chiengkon Bazar, Phallam Bazar, Phailien Bazar, and Dorcas Road junction.
Citizens have been cautioned against carrying restricted items such as keys, pens, bags, bottles, umbrellas, lighters, matchboxes, or sharp objects at the venue. The administration has further advised residents to use special public transport services instead of bringing private vehicles near the function site.
