Chinese tourist without PAP arretsed at Imphal Airport

Imphal, Oct 25: A Chinese tourist who had entered the state without protected area permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs has been arrested by CID Special Branch Imphal from the Tulihal Airport Imphal today morning at around 9.50 am. Official source said the Chinese individual had entered the state on October 22 and was trying to leave Imphal before he was arrested by the CID team from the Indigo counter at Imphal Tulihal Airport. He was supposed to to Mumbai via Kolkatta by Indigo flight 6 E- 202.
The Chinese tourist has been identified as Liu peng (34 years). He has been handed over to the Singjamei Police.
Mention may be made that PAP has been lifted from the entire North Eastern states of India including Manipur for a period of 5 years. However, the prohibition still exists for the Chinese, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
