Child rights bodies distribute essential food items to deprive children

With a view to reach out to socially and economically deprived children, volunteers of Wide Angle Social Development Organization, Manipur Alliance for Child Rights in association with CRY- CHILD RIGHTS and YOU , distributed essential food items to 250 children belonging to in and around areas of Patsoi, Namching Kabui Village, New Keithelmanbi Kuki & Meitei Villages, Khonglong Kabui village, Longjang village on 25th, 26th and 27th August 2020 respectively, a statement by Montu Ahanthem , Convener Manipur Alliance for Child Rights said.
It added that each child was provided with items such as Rice 10 kg, Dal, Skimmed Milk, Salt, local Bori, Atta , Noodles, Edible oil, Chengpak (rice flakes), Suji, Multivitamin syrup etc.
The statement said that in our community young Children become a gravely affected group, as the victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. The prolonged lockdowns, subsequent declaration of containment zones at various localities, complete shutdown of schools and total restriction of playing games and sports immeasurably damaged the physical and emotional wellbeing of the children.
It is high time that State authority prepare Short-term and long-term interventions to recuperate such damages suffered by the children.
