Chief Minister and team paid floral tribute to martyrs at Hicham Yaicham Pat and Thangal General temple

Fitting tribute was paid today to the martyrs of the 1891 Anglo Manipuri war who laid down their lives fighting the mighty British Empire for protection of the sovereignty of the erstwhile nation.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and his council of Ministers along with top government official paid fitting tribute at Hicham Yaicham Pat, at the memorial site of Bir Tikendrajit. Later the Chief Minister and his colleagues along with the top government official paid the floral tribute at Thangal General temple Complex.

Main observance function is being held at Bir Tikendrajit Park at BT road here in Imphal.

At Hicham Yaicham Pat gun salute was paid as a mark of respect to the Martyrs by contingent of the 1st MR Manipur Rifles.

Among those present include all cabinet Ministers including L. Jayentakumar, Th Bishwajit, Th Radheshyam, Th Shayamkumar and K Shyam among others. Almost all MLAs of the ruling BJP and its alliance  and Rajya Sabha MP Bhabananda were seen paying tribute at Hicham Yaicham pat today morning.

Manipur DGP, Chief Secretary and other top officials were also present and paid wreath to the memorials of Bir Tikendrajit.

Similar tribute was paid at Thangal Temple located at Palace compound here in Imphal.
