Imphal, April 9: A Chinese hand grenade was found at Mayai Lambi Service Station Hiyangthang Oil Pump under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West district at around 5.30 am today. The petrol pump is owned by one S. Milan. According to source the grenade might have been placed in connection with monetary demand. Police safely retrieved the hand grenade at around 7.30 am. and safely detonated at a safer place.
The source further added that a group which is not known in the public domain had served monetary demands some days back.
