Catholic Schools in Imphal area once more shuts fearing unwanted consequences regarding threats from anti social elements. The five Catholic Schools – Little Flower School, Catholic School Canchipur, St. Josheph, Sangaiprou, Christ Jyoti School, Mantripukhri and Nirmalabas School were open as usual today but soon after the first period the students were sent home without giving any announcement. When inquired by Imphal Times it has been learnt that a threat imposed by a group of anti social group had forced the schools to close down until their demands were met. Details of the demand could not be known at the moment. Surprisingly the closure of the schools comes a day after students’ body DESAM and parents of the students had appealed to all groups not to impose banned on these Catholic schools. Speaking to Imphal Times a parent of the students said that the ongoing threat to Catholic runs schools will only spoil the career of the students. He appealed the organization not to ruin the career of the students by shutting down these schools which are consider the best in the state.
