Chaoba predicts landslide victory for BJP in 2015 ADC election.

BJP Manipur Pradesh President Th Chaoba predicted a landslide victory for the party at the ensuing ADC election on June 1. Speaking at a public function, Chaoba highlighted the various development and welfare schemes taken up by the Modi-led BJP Government to alleviate poverty and accelerate progress for the citizens across the country. For the upcoming ADC polls, 121 candidates of BJP; 92 candidates of Congress; 93 of NPF; six of JD (U) and 251 independent candidates will fight for the 144 seats of the six Autonomous District Councils of Manipur. A total of 51 candidates including a candidate of the ruling Congress party withdrew their candidature  on the last date of the withdrawal of nomination papers of the ensuing Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections on Monday afternoon of May 11. Thus a total of 496 candidates will be contesting in the upcoming ADC elections across the six ADCs of Chandel-Churachandpur, Sadar Hills, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul in Manipur on June 1. The polling will be held across 1163 polling booths by using ballot papers and ballot boxes and polling will be held from 7 am to 4.30 pm.
