Teaching staffs of JNV, Chandel today staged a sit-in- protest at the school premises in protest against the stabbing of a teacher by a student inside the school premises.
Since morning, teaching and non teaching staff of the vidyalaya gathered at the gate of the school holding placards inscribed with “We condemn criminal act towards teachers” “teachers devoted their life for the students”, etc. and staged the protest against attacking of the teacher.
Speaking to the media persons at the sideline of the sit in protest, one of the Teacher told that the incident happened yesterday afternoon when one of the student of class XII who was sent home for his parent’s counseling after found indulged in intoxicants sneaked insides the campus and intentionally stabbed LC Alex Pammei, a PGT teacher of the Vidyalaya with a knife.
While condeming the incident in the strongest term the teacher further appealed the school authority to bring amicable solution at the earliest in order to remove fear psychosis among the staff and the students.
The student of class XII who attacked the teacher was identified as one Takhellambam Vivek S/o Takhellambam Birjit of Pallel and his whereabouts is still unknown. The critically injured teacher is undergoing treatment at SHIJA Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
