Chairperson of ADC CC Pur alleges major community of depriving tribal people’s right

Churachandpur District Autonomous Council Chairman, Langkhanpau Guit today alleges the major community of the Manipur Valley of depriving the rights of tribal people.In an interaction at his office District Council office, Tuibuong, Churachandpur he said that the present ambiguous scenario in the existing six Autonomous District Councils in Manipur is due to the negligence of the hill areas in all fronts of the developments, be it economical and social. He also said that the state government had conducted the election to elect Members of District Council as per Manipur (Hill Areas) District council, third amendment Acts 2008 where in power to 26 subjects were utilized under section 29 in sub-section (I) of the principal acts. However, more than half of the subject has not been devolved till date.All the MDC members have tasted the insincerity of the state government. The government has failed to address the plight of the tribal people of the hill areas in all walks of life, he added.Langkhanpau Guite further said the hill areas of Manipur is the only tribal areas in North East India which  is unattended ,and to unjustly  left-out from extension of the sixth schedule provision of the Indian constitution.
