CCpur ADC tender resignation

Chairman of the Autonomous District Council (ADC), Churachandpur, T Paukhanlian has tendered his resignation on Friday. The ADC Chairman submitted the resignation letter to the governor of Manipur . There is no official confirmation on whether the resignation has been accepted or not but the ADC Chairman said that he had taken up for resignation for the interest of the district in general and district Council, Churachandpur in particular;.
It may be mention that student body ATSUM has been demanding for timely conduct of the ADC election and warned the government of serious agitation if the ADCs has been extended. The student body had earlier decided to call state wide general strike including bandh on both National High Ways and ban on the construction of the national project from November 5. However, after the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleague assured that the government will not extend the term of the ADC ad that the ADC election will be held on time, the agitation has been suspended by the ATSUM. But said that it may resumed from November 10 if the government fails to announce the ADC election on time.
