Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Central Agriculture University (CAU), met with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan today to discuss the university’s ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at advancing the agricultural sector in Manipur and the broader Northeast region. The discussions highlighted CAU’s efforts in agronomy development and the potential of bioeconomy leveraging the state’s rich natural resources.
Governor Acharya lauded the significant contributions of CAU to the agricultural landscape, commending the university’s dedication and innovative approaches. He encouraged Dr. Mishra and his team to persist in their endeavors, emphasizing the critical role of agriculture in the state’s economic growth and sustainability.
In a separate meeting at Raj Bhavan, N Khoibi Singh, Director of the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRCSRE), along with two colleagues, briefed Governor Acharya on the center’s various activities and courses designed to empower persons with disabilities. The initiatives aim to enhance skill development, rehabilitation, and overall empowerment, providing essential support and opportunities for inclusion.
Governor Acharya expressed his appreciation for the CRCSRE’s efforts, recognizing the positive impact of their programs on the lives of persons with disabilities. He instructed the center to continue their valuable work and assured them of Raj Bhavan’s support in furthering their mission to serve the community effectively.
Both meetings underscored the collaborative efforts between the state’s leadership and key educational and developmental institutions to drive progress and improve the quality of life in Manipur.
