Tension erupted at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal this morning after a flight to Guwahati was suddenly cancelled, leaving several students stranded. The students were scheduled to appear for the Central Agricultural University (CAU) examination in Guwahati tomorrow.
Many students expressed frustration, stating that they received no prior information about the cancellation. One student said, “We only found out after reaching the airport. Now, we have no way to reach Guwahati since both highways are blocked for us.” With the exam just a day away, the sudden cancellation has caused panic among the candidates.
According to FlightAware, a flight tracking service, over 500 flights were cancelled today, with many others delayed. The reasons for the disruptions remain unclear, but the affected students are blaming the airlines for poor communication and lack of notice.
The stranded candidates are urging the airline authorities to take immediate action and provide an alternative solution to help them reach their exam center on time. With limited travel options and time running out, they are demanding urgent intervention to prevent their academic future from being jeopardized.
