Candidates selected as ASI stage rally in demand of appointment letter

Imphal Aug 24: Candidates who have been selected as Assistant Sub-Inspector today stage a rally in demand of their appointment letters.

The selected candidates tried to demonstrate in front of the Chief Minister’s bungalow. However, they police timely controlled them and blocked them near the Police Headquarter, Imphal.

Before staging the rally, Assistant Sub-Inspector Selected Candidates and Parents/Guardians Association, 2010 today organized a press meet at Manipur Press Club.

During the press meet, Nongthang Chingangbam, spokesperson of the association, said that the written exam for the selection was conducted on 31st December, 2010 at 2nd MR ground. Result of the written examination was declared on 25th February, 2013. Visa-voce was conducted from 22nd May to 27th May, 2013. The result of Viva-voce was declared on 3rd March 2014. After that on 15th July, 2014 a notice was released asking the candidates to submit some documents to Police Headquarter. However, document collection was indefinitely postponed by another notice after few days.

The selected candidate urged the concern authority to give appointment letters till the 25th July. However, there is no response from the concern authority till now. Besides this, the association has submitted memorandums to Deputy Chief Minister, Home Secretary, DGP and other concern authority. He further said that candidates have been waiting for the job for more than 3-4 years. So, the government should give a positive response as soon as possible and know the aspirations of the candidates.
