Imphal, Aug 31:

Student Union of C.I College has set an ultimatum to the government over failure to send teachers and failure of the teacher to join the College after being transferred to the College.
“If the teacher transferred in the college failed to join and if the government fails to sent substitute teachers by September 2, then the C.I. College Students’ Union, Bishnupur along with the Civil Society organization will impose total shut down from September 3″, a statement of the student Union said.
The press statement said that two of the teachers – A. Shilla Devi (Botany) of Thambal Marik College and N. Ibemcha Devi (Geography) of Biramangol College after being transferred to the C.I. College still had not joined. On the other hand the one and only History teacher Dr. Bhabananda Singh Takhellambam had been transferred at Modern College. At present CI College has one Geography teacher, this teacher too have been utilized from Oriental College, the statement said.
The CI College students’ Union had appealed through a press statement requesting the authority to send substitute teachers and to join the college to those teachers time and again. However, the appeal turns meaningless, and have left with no choice but to take up extreme measures with the help of the CSOs.
