Businessman shot dead by unknown gunmen; 3 bullets pumped

Imphal, Oct. 4: Unknown gunmen today shot dead a person near a crematorium located at Oinam Leirak at Chanchipur area under Singjamei Police station. The incident took place at around 8am today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Lal Babu Singh, age about 50yrs, son of Rawan Singh of Simraha, Motihari East Champharan under Rajpur Police Station of Bihar. At present he is staying at Mantripukhri and has been doing Ngari (fermented fish) business since the last 10 years.
The bullet riddled dead body was found blind folded with both hands tight at the back. The way the deceased was found death suggest that the gunmen might have brought him from some area before shooting him at the site.
Locals said they heard sound of firing but did not expect gun shot as many play crackers these days.
Three bullets were pumped to the body. One at the chest, another at the right abdomen and one bullet hit at the right thigh.
No organisation or individuals has so far claimed the shooting.
Police team which arrived at the spot picked up the dead body and deposited at RIMS Morgue.
