Imphal, Dec 18:

Former Additional SP NAB, Th. Brinda Devi has returned the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Gallantry on Patriots’ Day, the 13th August 2018 in recognition to her service on War Against Drug.

In her letter addressed to the Chief Minister Additional SP Brinda , who had been transferred from the NAB, stated that she had been conferred the gallantry medal in recognition of the seizure of huge amount of drugs from the then ADC Chairman of Chandel Lhukhosei Zou.

She wrote, “I feel morally inclined that I have not conducted my duty as “per Wishes’ of the Criminal Justice Delivery System of the land”. Brinda was referring to the release of Lhukhosei after Special Court ( ND and PS) found him not guilty.

She said, “I do not consider myself deserving of the honour bestowed upon me by your good self. I, therefore, return the same to the state Home department so that it may be given to a more deserving and loyal police officer”.
