Commemorating to the late Manipuri playwright Khundrakpam Brajachand, five days Brajachand Theatre Festival will be organised by Khundrakpam Brajachand Memorial Trust starting from 11th Jan at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Auditotirum, DM College Campus.
Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, Prof. N. Tombi, Advisor, Khundrakpam Brajachand Memorial Trust said that the trust was established in the year of 2008 with the fundamental objective of preserving, maintaining and fostering engagements with Brajachand’s contribution to Manipuri theatre. He added that the festival will be organised believing that his plays would provide timely and opportune platform for the public to reconnect with his work. The festival would forecast four different plays of Brajachand which will be performed by four prominent theatre groups of the state, namely Mathangi Yenningthada will be presented by Cosmopolitan Dramatic Union, Tingkhang by Khoriphaba Dramatic Association, Turel Wangmagi Ahal Ama by Manipuri Ensemble and Chithi Puba Uchek by Theatre mirror Manipur.
